Why Change?

Laudetur Jesus Christus!

Most regular visitors to http://romeoescuyos.blogspot.com will notice the constant and unchanging feature of this blog. Which is quite beautiful as it is quite simple. That constant and unchanging feature folks is nothing. Because nothing was ever posted for a couple of months now and perhaps they are leaving in droves in dissapointment. That is the main reason why the blog is constant and unchanging.

But that is exactly what I wanted to show you guys. I want you to know that no matter how many different topics and issues are discussed here the truth of the matter is that it will only constitute a tiny fragment of a gigantic picture that does not and will not change.
That is why no matter how much pressure the media and the rest of the world is pushing against the hardline stance the Catholic Church is taking against abortion, women priests, the abolition of celibacy, and embryonic stem cell research to name a few - the Church will always uphold the Magisterium (the teaching facility of the Church) and will stick to what It has taught for almost 2,000 years.

Despite the clamor for change and revolution in today's society, what everybody else needs to know is that God does not change and so does His laws and His Church.
Most often the change our society has underwent proved to be disastrous morally and economically. Europe is one example - once a strong bastion of Roman Catholicism this continent prided itself in bringing barbarous and chaotic nations and kingdoms to Christendom which promoted civility and order. This continent alone produced the most Martyrs, and holy Saints for the Church. It has produced the most beautiful minds, artists and musicians. And almost all the nations in the continent recognized the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ. Today, Europe has developed an almost incurable amnesia. It forgot its Catholic, let alone Christian legacy and has moved from being a God-centered society to a man-centered society. Crime and immorality is at an all-time high and sanctity and belief in God is at an all-time low which alarmed the late Pope John Paul II and even our current Pope Benedict XVI.
But more serious than all of these is the change which took place more than forty years ago which will shape the destiny of humankind towards the wrath of God almighty and in throes of the Antichrist. I will discuss more of this later.

Whacked out but alright!

Laudetur Jesus Christus!

Just lately, Divine intervention took on a pretty significant meaning in my life. Now I realized how literal it could be.

I was just finishing my prayers after Holy Mass a three weeks ago when Kuya Walter stepped in and asked if I could join him for Choir practice this Holy Week. I, without much emotion naturally declined his invitation telling him that I am going to be busy because Call Centers (mine particularly) unfortunately have the word "Holiday" missing from its vocabulary. Somehow, I felt very uncomfortable about my decision although that is the only possible recourse I could have.

The days went on smoothly until Friday during a meeting when I was personally asked by our Operations Manager to go with him. I thought I had the wrong aux pressed on my workstation - (aux default instead of aux for meeting) so I cheerily trotted along until he led me to his desk where I was joined by the HR director. "HR Director??? What the heck is this?" my mind shrieked. We were to find an empty room and boy you should've seen those stomach muscles contract violently. Something's wrong with this picture and I began to do my own examination of conscience possibly thinking what I did wrong this time.

Finally, after almost a century of finding an empty room we were able to settle comfortably. Well they were comfortable and I wasn't. We are to wait for a phone call. I curiously asked the HR director what was this all about. He just told me to wait for the call. The phone rang and the OM put person on the other line on speakerphone. They all appeared to be relaxed and cheerfully greeted each other until the person on the phone - call was from Denver, CO.

It just happened that the person on the other line was from the Fraud Department and I was informed that I have committed a fradulent act of sending personal customer info to my google email account. Now I do remember. The reasons for the action were for the purpose of tracking customer issues. Somehow I went so far as to store them in my inbox so that I could access it whenever I transfer to another workstation. Our account has yet to have a shared folder to store the information and therefore make it accessible on all the workstations.

Despite being sincere and honest in admitting that the act was unintentional, nevertheless my Aunt received the termination notice on Good Friday. I was in Church that day spending the rest of the Holy Week as one of the cantors.

All I could say was I was full of awe - reverential awe. God really knows how to get your attention when you're very busy. I have reflected and realized that my faith has been compromised somewhat because of the lazy excuse of WORK.

I should say with much respect to those who work that work is necessary. Necessary to the point that it leads to perfection. Without work, man is idle and is more likely to sin.

In my case, I have made it as a silly excuse to shun every other act of devotion, prayer and spirituality. In the end, it has caused me to be empty and almost devoid of reason.

I still remember way back when someone asked me the question, 'What if God became too busy to care about you.' Well, I guess I learned my lesson.
